Welcome to the 16th EASP General Meeting and a warm welcome to Stockholm,
the capital of Sweden. It is our ambition to make this meeting a stimulating and exciting experience of
high quality, international social psychological science. We are also confident that the Nordic light and
the long summer nights in Stockholm will provide many opportunities for invigorating informal meetings and
discussions between colleagues from all over the world.
It is our hope that the conference will highlight the theoretical vigour and the variety in our field, as well as the
applicability of the principles derived within social psychological research to pressing contemporary issues.
We, the organisers of the conference, are pleased to welcome you to an important scientific event in a friendly atmosphere
of inspiring surroundings. Stockholm is built on fourteen islands, and the water is so clean that you can go for a swim just
outside the Royal Palace in the city centre. The unique archipelago of over 30.000 islands offers numereous excursions to all
visitors. Culture, entertainment, and restaurants abound catering all tastes.
